Tailor Dock Privacy Policy

Tailor Dock — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 August 2026

Tailor Dock is a business application for tailoring shops. Shop staff use it to manage customer records, garment measurements, orders and payments. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and what choices you have.

Two kinds of people are described here. Shop users are the staff members who log in to the app. Customers are the people whose details shop users record in order to fulfil a tailoring order. Customers do not log in and do not install the app.

1. Who is responsible for your data

Each tailoring shop that uses Tailor Dock decides what customer information to record and how long to keep it. That shop is the controller of the information it enters.

Futurenostics Ltd ("we", "us") provides and operates the Tailor Dock software and its servers on that shop's behalf, acting as a processor. We do not decide what customer data a shop collects, and we do not use it for our own purposes.

If you are a customer of a tailoring shop and want your details corrected or removed, contact that shop directly. You can also contact us at the address in section 11 and we will pass your request on.

2. Information the app collects

Shop user account information

Accounts are created by a shop administrator. The app has no public sign-up.

Technical information

What the app does not do. Tailor Dock contains no advertising, no third-party analytics or tracking software, and no advertising identifiers. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it to train machine-learning models. The app does not collect location data. It does not process card or bank details — recorded payments are amounts only.

3. Device permissions

The app asks for a permission only at the moment a feature needs it, and it will keep working if you decline — you simply cannot use that particular feature.

PermissionWhy the app asks
CameraTo photograph a garment, fabric or customer for an order record.
MicrophoneTo record an optional voice note against an order.
Photos / storageTo attach an existing picture from your device to an order or profile. On Android 13 and above, this uses the system photo picker, which gives the app access only to the images you choose.
Internet & network stateTo communicate with the Tailor Dock servers and to detect when you are offline.
VibrationBrief haptic feedback when you confirm an action.

4. How the information is used

Futurenostics Ltd is established in Canada, so this policy is governed by Canadian federal privacy law (PIPEDA). Where the UK or EU GDPR also applies, our processing rests on the shop's legitimate interest in running its business and on performance of our contract with the shop.

5. Sharing your receipt over messaging apps

The app can open WhatsApp, or your device's share sheet, pre-filled with an order receipt. This happens only when a shop user explicitly chooses to share, and the message is sent by that user from their own account. Once shared, the content is handled under the privacy policy of whichever app they send it through — not this one.

6. Who else processes the data

We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run the service. They process data only on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes.

ProviderPurpose
RailwayApplication server and PostgreSQL database hosting
VercelHosting for the Tailor Dock web application
S3-compatible object storageStorage of uploaded photographs and voice notes

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or to establish or defend legal claims. Data may be processed on servers outside your country; where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

7. How the information is protected

No system is perfectly secure, but we take these measures seriously and review them as the product changes.

8. How long the information is kept

Customer and order records are kept for as long as the shop keeps them, since the shop may need them for future orders, warranty or accounting purposes. When a shop closes its account, its data is deleted within 90 days. Server logs are retained for a short period for security and diagnostic purposes and are then discarded.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict or delete personal information about you, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact the shop holding your records, or write to us at the address below and we will assist.

Deleting an account

Tailor Dock has no public sign-up; shop user accounts are created and removed by a shop administrator. To have a shop user account and its associated personal data deleted, ask your shop administrator, or email us at support@tailordock.com from the account's registered address. We will confirm the request and delete the account and its personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records by law.

10. Children

Tailor Dock is a business tool intended for use by adults operating a tailoring shop. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child's information has been entered into the service, contact us and we will remove it.

11. Contact

Questions, requests or complaints about this policy:

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or — if you are in the UK or EU — to your local data protection authority.

12. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to this policy we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change significantly affects you, give notice inside the app. Continuing to use Tailor Dock after a change means you accept the updated policy.
